Apps and tools designed around real people — with real health needs, real limits, and a real day to get back to.
You open a meal planning app and it shows you three hundred recipes. You have to scroll, filter, cross-reference, decide. By the time you've figured out what fits — your energy level today, your appliances, your serving size, the people you're cooking for, the things you can't eat — you're too tired to cook it.
The planning took the energy the meal was supposed to restore.
Deciding what to eat should not cost more energy than cooking it.
After thirty-five years as a registered nurse — walking alongside patients through illness, treatment, recovery, and the long ordinary stretch of living with a diagnosis — I retired. I thought I'd slow down.
Instead I became a builder.
Not because I had a tech background. I didn't. But because I kept running into the same wall: the tools available to me, and to the women I mentored, didn't fit the life we were actually living.
"The people who need the most support are often the ones the tools were never built for."
So I started building my own. Not as a Silicon Valley founder. As a woman in her 70s — a nurse, a counselor, and someone living with a disability herself — who learned to code late and who uses these tools every single day, not as a thought experiment but as an actual necessity.
I am not building for an imagined user. I am the user. That changes everything about how this gets built.
That's MizMarie Builds. Tools for your actual life. Starting with the Adaptive Kitchen.
The tool bends toward you — not the other way around. Flexibility is built in from the start, not patched on as an afterthought.
Every product starts with 35 years of sitting with real people in real situations. Not market research. Actual life.
If a tool doesn't work for you, that's the tool's failure. We build for the full range of real human capacity — on the hard days too.
Our first app is a meal-planning tool built for home cooks who live with health conditions, dietary needs, and honest limits on time and energy. Not a recipe database with a filter. A real planning tool built around how your body actually works.
Meal planning for the life you're actually living
You set your filters once — energy level, appliances, servings, household, food needs. The app narrows everything down to what actually works. You choose from a short list, not an overwhelming one. The hard part is done before you even open the fridge.
Full product page still being built — more coming soon.

You know how to cook. You've been doing it for years. But somewhere between a body that has limits, a day that's already spent, and a kitchen full of options that may or may not work for you tonight — that question became the hardest part of your afternoon.
And the cruelest part is that figuring out what to eat takes the same energy you were trying to save.
Most meal planning apps make it worse. They give you more options and expect you to sort through them yourself. Every meal requires you to cross-reference your energy level, your appliances, your serving size, who you're feeding, and what you can and can't eat. That's not planning. That's work. And it costs the exact energy you were trying to protect.
"The problem was never that you didn't know what to cook. The problem was that figuring it out cost more than you had. That's the wall. That's what we're building around."
Marie Whitehead spent thirty-five years as a registered nurse — walking alongside people through illness, recovery, and the long ordinary stretch of managing a body that has rules. She watched what happened when people got home. Not the dramatic moments. The quiet ones. Standing at the refrigerator at 5pm with nothing left, trying to figure out what was safe to eat.
That includes people managing health conditions, dietary restrictions, limited mobility, or variable energy — but the primary filter is energy, not diagnosis. Not just older adults, either: exhaustion and decision fatigue don't have an age minimum. If planning a meal costs more than you have, this app was built for you.
No complicated setup. No re-entering your restrictions every week. Just a plan that actually works for your life.
Your appliances, your household, your serving sizes, your food needs. Set it once. The app carries it forward. No re-entering, no re-filtering, no starting over.
Tell the app what kind of day it is — high energy, medium, or low. Low energy means simple, low-effort meals with almost no prep; high energy opens up the full range. It filters everything else through that first, then narrows by your other settings. You choose from a short, workable list. Not three hundred options.
Your shopping list generates automatically, organized the way you actually move through a store. Free version gives you 7 days, no account required — yours to try, no strings attached. The paid version adds saved plans, an account, and unlimited use.
No account. No credit card. No commitment. Plan up to 7 days of meals filtered around your energy, your appliances, your household, and your needs — yours to try, no strings attached.
